Real world happenings serve as an influence for every creative endeavor. Film, photo, paint, and other forms of artistic media all embody a sense of realism, as nothing is truly created through the mind alone. Sensory inputs that one feels are articulated and combined to generate the masterpieces we see on a daily basis. No one can create a new color that doesn’t already exist. We simply blend the colors together to create new noise.

Shot on a Panasonic fz300 and edited through Premiere Pro, “Let The Water Run” is a short form thriller film shot and composed over a 3 week period. Meant to invoke a feeling of raw realism, through a jarring ending showcasing the harsh realities of the world. Viewers are left shocked as they are thrown from an uncanny, uncomfortable space back into a very real location showcasing very real consequences. Blues, light magentas and desaturated greens were incorporated in the color grading to establish a cold, dark, dreamy atmosphere. Practical lights with dark shadows and raised highlights brought forth a depressive mood, utilizing tungsten light tones to add bits of warmth throughout the film. Cinematography involved a great deal of cycling through extreme angles, close-ups and wide shots to symbolise the character’s changing emotions and to leave the audience feel uncomfortable. The set design allowed for the uncanniness to leak through the screen as everything was created as minimally as possible in a claustrophobic way.

An animated poster of an illustrated F-14 Tomcat fighter plane flying in and out of frame. The objective was to generate a poster using motion graphics as a way to inform the audience of the aircraft's main functionality. Its variable-swept wing design. Traced out in illustrator using a real photograph of the plane, the 2D rendering was then thrown into Photoshop and later put into After Effects to be animated. Getting finalized in Premiere Pro with touch-ups and sound effects the poster was completed. There was a large emphasis on motion and the feeling of speed, achieved by clouds flying by and slight shaking of the plane.
A series of posters and graphic design elements put togther using 3D renders, photography and illustrative pieces. Composited in Photoshop then retouched in Lightroom, this collection of works includes a display of creative efforts put forth in professional formats. A heavy focus on layout, typography and readability. Mixing different composition concepts such as breaking the grid.
